NASI TUMPENG (Tumpeng Rice)
Nasi Tumpeng is cone shaped rice and arranged together with side dishes. Because the shape of the cone is therefore called 'nasi tumpeng'. - Tumpeng is usually served on 'tampah' (a traditional round container made of woven bamboo) which has been covered with banana leaves. - In its presentation, tumpeng rice is usually equipped with 7 kinds of side dishes, 7 in Javanese means "PITU". Pitu number (or 7) this means "pitulungan" (help). - From the beginning until now the presence of cone rice remained the same, namely as a manifestation of gratitude to God the Almighty.
